Valuable U.S. Coins · September 10, 2020

Coin collections are ones in demand due to a lot of interest for antics and other such materials. The market is considerably growing, as people from all corners tend to come in and look for ways to enhance their collection. To add on that list, there are a few classics that may be found in circulation. Most of them are priced at a huge value, but that might not stop individuals from getting their hands on the same. Hence, to add on, here are some of the most valuable U.S Coins that are found in circulation.

1794 Flowing Hair Dollar

According to researchers and experts, 1704 Flowing Hair Dollar might be the first silver dollar coin struck by the US mint and also one of the finest of their times. If one has to talk about history, then this particular coin is quite a big deal and can be considered as an essential addition to your collection. The current ownership rights of this coin is being held by Stack’s Bowers Galleries. Although the coin holds a face value of $1, it does include a prize that was realized for over $10 million.

1870 S Seated Liberty Dollar

Unlike the 1794 Flowing, the 1870 S Seated Liberty Dollar does not really have a record in terms of history. But coins that have the San Francisco mint mark tend to be priceless and are considered to be of great value. This particular coin created quite a buzz when it hit the market and realised a price of $1.3 million. Stanford coins and Bullion is the auction house that currently owns this masterpiece. It was sold in the year 2008 and did a pretty good job by being placed on a high level for someone’s collection.

The United States Mint produced a small quantity of the 1913 Liberty Head Nickel, and that was enough for this coin to be termed as a classic. It was sold in the year 2013, and the ownership rights went to Heritage Auction House. The fact that it does not contain a mint mark did not come in the way of a price realisation of $3.1 million. This rare coin does look like one of its kind and has the potential to raise attention.

1927 D St Gaudens Double Eagle

About 180,000 of these coins were minted back in the day, and they were considered to be one of the lowest mintage coins. But things have changed and the 1927 D St Gaudens Double Eagle is more in demand than ever. Currently owned by Rare Coin Wholesalers of Dana Point, the coin did have a price realisation of $1.65 million. Regardless of its history, things have not changed for this antique.
